This reproduction of Auguste Rodin’s The Kiss is made in The Netherlands, using resin and featuring hand-painted details, a piece for lovers of romance.
Originally conceived around 1882, The Kiss was inspired by the tragic love story of Paolo and Francesca from Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy. The two lovers shared a forbidden romance and were discovered and killed by Francesca’s husband, condemned thereafter to wander through Hell together. Rodin captured them in the fleeting moment before their tragedy, completely absorbed in one another, sharing their final kiss.
